As a small guesthouse, our hope is to create a “home away from home” with true Lakeland bed and breakfast values to provide all our guests with high quality service and a comfortable, relaxing, enjoyable stay during their visit to the beautiful Lake District.
Oakthwaite House is a Victorian town house built c.1876 in a quiet residential area of Keswick, only a five-minute walk from the town centre. Superbly situated to explore the stunning natural surrounds of the Lake District, or enjoy a romantic getaway and celebrate a special occasion, Oakthwaite House offers you an ideal home-away-from-home during your stay in Keswick.
We also currently have a Stay & Save special offer available for stays of 3 nights or more. View our Tariff Page for more information.
We offer a range of delicious hearty breakfast options to give you the perfect start to the morning. On request, we also offer pack lunches, please contact us to discuss your bespoke catering requirements.
Please note that there is an overnight road closure on the A66. This currently affects journey’s between Penrith and Keswick by Highways England from Monday 9th April currently for a four week period between the hours of 2200hrs and 0600hrs every night (10.00pm-6.00am).
The only exceptions are emergency vehicles, the last two buses from Keswick to Penrith and those people who live within the affected stretch of the road (Threlkeld-Wallthwaite).
Highways England are signposting the official diversion route via Carlisle, however much shorter routes are possible. We therefore urge you to plan your journey and/or trips accordingly to either arrive prior to the closure and/or plan with sat nav, maps or online route planners such as The AA or RAC.
We very much look forward to welcoming you.
